Lafayette woman's bid to become president is challenged

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It appears a Lafayette resident's bid to have her name alongside the likes of Gingrich, Paul, Romney and Santorum will fall short.

Lafayette resident Patricia Sandifer submitted her own name and made it on the Republican presidential ballot in Indiana.  She doesn't have the 4,500 signatures required to be a legitimate candidate.

But if no one challenged her bid by noon Friday, she would remain on the ballot.

Tippecanoe County Board of Elections Co-Director Jared Bond told NewsChannel 18 Thursday her bid has been challenged.
