LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra continues preparing for its opening night this weekend.
The 2012-2013 season gets underway Saturday night with a performance by "Time for Three."
The trio will perform a variety of genres from jazz to gypsy.
Symphony officials say the kickoff this weekend marks a big change for the symphony this year as it highlights younger artists and performers.
"This is your first opportunity to experience the symphony like never before. This is really not the stuffy symphony that your grandparents went to, and maybe your grandparents still come and there will be something for them too. But this really is the new face for the Lafayette Symphony and the new face of orchestral music," said Sara Mummey of the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra.
Opening night is 7:30 Saturday at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
