LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Department of Defense confirmed Friday the death of a Lafayette soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Sergeant Kyle Osborn, 26, died Sept. 13 in Muqer, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with small guns and rocket propelled grenade fire.
Sgt. Osborn was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team at Camp Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.
