LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Crews from the Lafayette Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a Lafayette home on the city's northeast side.
The house, located at 1801 Pierce St., reportedly caught fire shortly before 1:30 a.m. An anonymous party made the 911 call. When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a portion of the home's second story was engulfed in flames.
Lt. Perry Amos of the Lafayette Police Department said firefighters found what appeared to be a "one-pot" meth lab. However, after an investigation by Indiana State Police, it was determined not to be a meth lab. The discovery was not related to the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was injured.
This is the third early morning fire News 18 has reported this week.
