Judge Rush visits Jeff 92 radio station

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It certainly isn't the chambers of the Indiana Supreme Court, but current Tippecanoe County Juvenile Judge and incoming Indiana Supreme Court Judge Loretta Rush visited the Jeff 92 Morning Show Wednesday.

It's just over a month until Rush will begin her job in Indianapolis, but first she is finishing up business in Tippecanoe County.

"When I got the appointment I came back and it sort of started sinking in," Rush said. "[The governor] asked when I can start. I said it would take a couple months. It will take a couple months to transition my court. I still have cases I'm hearing. I'm living here and going to court."

Judge Rush will start her job with the Supreme Court after the election in November. Although she has a month to spare, she said she is already preparing for what is to come.

"It's overwhelming sometimes the thought that I'll be transitioning to that position," Rush said. "I'm paying more attention when I read the Supreme Court cases right now. I'm watching the cases that come out. And watching the cases that are working their way through that I will be hearing."

Governor Daniels is currently accepting applications for the Tippecanoe County Juvenile Judge position. Those applications are due Oct.10.
