The Lafayette license branch sees a busy week

LAFAYETTE, ind. (WLFI) - The phone service outage in West Lafayette made for a busy day at the Lafayette Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Some West Lafayette phone and internet lines were cut last Friday by crews working on Phase Two of the Cumberland Avenue project.

The cut fiber optic cables left thousands of residents and businesses without phones and internet service.

Four days later, the West Lafayette BMV is still dealing with the outage.

The branch had to send customers to Lafayette for any license issues.

That made for a congested Lafayette license branch.

People were left to sit on the floor while waiting in lines lasting more than an hour or hour and a half.
