Imagination Station reopens with brand new attractions

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - For the last month and a half volunteers at Imagination Station in Lafayette have been working hard to reopen its doors to the community. It's all part of the it's annual "Project Rejuvenation." Board member Seth Kresovsky said when the doors finally opened Saturday the revamped center filled up fast.

"We've been overwhelmed," Kresovsky said. "Our parking lot is entirely full right now so people are parking on the street, but we're excited to get everyone out there and we're getting some good feedback too."

Imagination Station is 100 percent volunteer run and all of the funds to renovate the entire facility came from the community.

"We have memberships, we have admission, but a lot of our donations come from the community, businesses, local businesses, corporations. We look forward to working with everybody in the future as well," Kresovsky said.

Those donations helped bring new exhibits to the center designed around kid-friendly science and technology projects and Kresovsky said there's something for everyone.

"I got to say my favorite exhibit is the magnetoscope of course, because that is one I kind of got started, but there's a ton of new ones to try out so even if you've been here before it's a great time to try the new things," Kresovsky said.

Imagination Station is open every Tuesday and Thursday.
