Driver runs red light, crashes in Lafayette near I-65

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A car ran a red light in Lafayette and crashed into another car, sending several to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The two-car crash happened at the northbound entrance ramp at State Road 26 and I-65.

Crews on the scene say a total of seven people were involved.

Lafayette Police Department officials say a car driven by 50-year-old Tony Ross of Wolcott was headed east on State Road 26, about to turn north onto I-65's entrance ramp.

Police say that's when another car, driven by 33-year-old Bojana Mandic of North Carolina, ran the light and collided with Ross's car.

Four people were sent to the hospital, including a child with non-life-threatening injuries.
