WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A man found his wife dead in a creek Sunday morning, after she doesn't return home from work Saturday evening.
Warren County Deputies said 50-year-old Wynnette Werkheiser of Rossville, Ill., left her job in Lafayette around 11 Saturday evening. Deputies said when her husband woke up Sunday morning and noticed she was not home, he went looking for her.
According to deputies, Werkheiser's husband found her car in a creek and called 911.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the call on County Road 300 North near County Road 1100 West around 8:45 Sunday morning.
Deputies said the 1996 Chrysler Concorde, driven by Werkheiser, left the road for an unknown reason and landed on its top in a creek. Werkheiser was pronounced dead at the scene.
