BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) - Hundreds gathered to play their fiddles at the Fiddler's Gathering in Battle Ground on Saturday. People from all across the country traveled to Battle Ground for the annual music festival.
"Fiddle music to me, it's spirited, it has an energy level of itself, and to me, there is no way that's not fun," said Myra Dworski, a beginning Fiddler's workshop teacher. "We have a big range of abilities. When they come to my class, I tell them we're going to be doing basic things, and then I'm going to show them how to take some basic structure and make it sound more like music."
"I like to learn new music, and I feel proud of myself when I master a song and everyone thinks it's really cool," said workshop participant Elexis Rigney.
"It's fun, it's enjoyment, it keeps your mind active," said workshop participant Phyllis Lish.
"Fiddlers fit into any kind of jam session," said Dworski. "There's always a place for you to go. I think people like that variety, they like to hear that."
The Fiddler's Gathering will wrap up Sunday afternoon.
