LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. One out of every three deaths is caused by heart disease and stroke. It's equal to 2,200 deaths per day according to the CDC.
February is American Heart Month, sponsored by the American Heart Association .

"Hey, do I have any of this or is this new? Or is this changed?" Dr. Karas says to ask yourself.
"And then you just build the story. If something is not right, most people know their boy and know if they are feeling well or poorly. (If poorly) Then they make an appointment with their health care practitioner," he continued.
