High winds create a problem for crews battling barn fire

PRAIRIE, Ind. (WLFI) - High winds and snow created problems for firefighters in White County early Thursday morning.
Firefighters were responding to a barn fire in Prairie, Indiana located off South County Road 300 West. Brookston Fire Chief Willis Johnson said the fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. No one was inside the barn at the time. Johnson said the owners of the barn had actually considered tearing it down. It's unclear what caused the fire.
Winds up to 25 miles per hour delayed progress in extinguishing the fire.
"The wind had really been fighting against us. [I] can't hardly stand still [because] the wind blows [me] back," said Willis, while battling the fierce winds at the scene.
No one was injured during the incident. An investigation into what sparked the fire continues.
