A Lafayette man is sentenced to nearly two decades in prison …

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Heartland Automotive is building a new 126,000 square foot plant in Lafayette.
Heartland Automotive is currently operating on Kepner Drive in Lafayette. They’re currently building an $8.4 million manufacturing/assembly plant in Park 350 at Veterans Memorial Parkway and U.S. 52.
This building will also include 4,000 square feet of office space.
The groundbreaking for the new plant is at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1.
Headquartered in Greencastle, Indiana and founded in 1987 by parent company Shigeru Co. Ltd. of Japan, Heart land Automotive is a full-service Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry. It produces interior and exterior automotive components, including instrument panels, doors, headliners, and auto body parts.
Its largest client is Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. Heartland currently employs 114 in Lafayette and another 38 as temporary workers. With the move, the company expects to make temporary workers full-time Heartland employees.
