CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - Men with a nail gun on top of a roof has become pretty common sight down the streets of Flora and Radnor. Another common sight: contractor signs.

"We've noticed that there are many different contractors repairing roofs, not just a few, but many different ones," said Ed Selvidge.

Selvidge lives in Carroll County. He is also the pastor at Radnor United Methodist Church. On Aug. 9, a hail storm ripped through Radnor. Selvidge said the church lost four stained-glass windows.

"It was going to cost nearly $18,000 to replace the four windows," said Selvidge.

Selvidge said those windows won't be replaced until late November. There was also hail damage to all three buildings on the church's property. He said that's where he's glad insurance comes in. Otherwise, the damage would be overwhelming.

"We are looking at about $85,000 to totally re-do all three structures and get them back to good shape," said Selvidge.

Selvidge said nearly every structure in Radnor had some of damage. A few Flora residents told News 18 they also have thousands of dollars' worth of damage. One resident's estimate is as high as $28,000. But with the help of contractors and nail guns, residents hope to get back to normal.

Flora residents hit by the hail can choose to go green. Resident can recycle old vinyl siding by taking it to the city garage.
