Greater Lafayette creates groundbreaking new website

GREATER LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Greater Lafayette Commerce launched a new website that offers the world a chance to experience Lafayette – and officials are deeming it the first of its kind.

Hometown2Hometown.com was created with the goal of enhancing existing relationships and developing new ones in the global community.

The site offers visitors, new residents and relatives of current residents to see what Greater Lafayette is really like.

President and CEO of Greater Lafayette Commerce Joe Seaman says this site is the first of its kind anywhere in the country.

“It's got a lot of creativity to it,” Seaman said. “We didn't want something that was the traditional picture, we wanted more of a caricature of nature and something that would be fun. We think we've captured all of that.  At the same time, (we captured) the essence of what makes up this great community we live in.”

The site also has five real-time web cams around Purdue and Downtown Lafayette.
