TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - With a change in ownership comes a change in rates for Battle Ground Golf Club.
As we reported in December, the golf course was donated to the non-profit Lafayette Parks Foundation by former owner John Scheumann.
The club remains open to the public. Course officials say the rates are affordable for those who want to hit the greens.
“We are selling memberships so you can purchase a season pass,” General Manager Shane Weist said. “It is open to the public so there are daily fee rates and we have set those rates a little bit lower than they were in the past. We set them between the Battle Ground and the old municipal rates.
“It is very accessible to the public and affordable. People of Lafayette and West Lafayette are getting a very affordable golf course. It is in great condition and much better than the old municipal course. It is a good quality facility that they have the ability to play at a good rate.”
Weather permitting, Battle Ground Golf Club plans to open to the public on March 1.
