FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - A gas station clerk is left with cuts on his face after he fought a man who robbed a Frankfort gas station at gunpoint.

Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon said the robbery happened at the Clarks gas station on West State Road 28 in Frankfort around 10 Sunday night.

Bacon said the man was armed with a pellet gun and knife and walked into the gas station, went behind the counter, and demanded money. Bacon said after a short scuffle with the gas station clerk, the man took an undisclosed amount of money and took off running.

"The clerk at that point ran after the suspect and engaged in another confrontation out in the parking lot," said Bacon. "That's where the clerk received the injury to his face."

Bacon said the clerk's injuries were minor.

He said the robbery suspect is described as a white male about 5 feet 8 inches with dark curly hair. He said he was last seen wearing a mask and black clothing.

Bacon said they are still working to obtain the surveillance footage from the gas station. If you have any information you are asked to call Frankfort police at (765) 654-4431.
