Galveston woman killed in crash

CASS COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A Cass County woman has died after her car was struck by a semi.

Myrtle Marie Cornell, 94, of Galveston, was northbound on County Road 500 East when she failed to yield at the State Road 18 intersection.

Her Pontiac Grand Prix was hit by a westbound semi trailer around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to Cass County sheriff's deputies, the driver, 59-year-old Gary Schoonveld, of Justice, Ill., was not injured in the crash.

Cornell was pronounced dead at the scene.
