FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Fundraising efforts continue in Frankfort, in hopes of bringing an Ivy Tech Community College to town. Officials said they are two-thirds of the way to their goal.

Mayor Chris McBarnes said the community has raised $1.7 million so far for the $2.5 million project. He said Vern Kaspar, the owner of several local radio stations, just donated $180,000.

Also, the Community Foundation recently announced it will match any donation ranging from $1,000 to $100,000.

The building for the planned location currently houses the Frankfort Times on Clinton Street.

McBarnes said students will be able to enroll in classes beginning in February. Classes are slated to start in August.
