ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - Hundreds of Attica residents came together Saturday night to help two daughters who lost their parents and sister in a car crash back on Oct. 31.
You may remember, three members of the Fox family were killed when their van was hit by combine on State Road 25.
Saturday night, a fundraiser was held at the Attica Fraternal Order of Eagle's Lodge. The event included a silent auction, hog roast, talent show and live band.
The event cost $10 at the door. The money raised at the event will go toward an education fund for the two daughters and family friend who survived the crash.
Event organizer Tommy Galloway said tonight's event was living proof of how a small community can come together and support one another.
"Obviously, it's an unfortunate circumstance that brought this about, but it's been really great," said Galloway. "It shows that we and small towns across America are community minded and we're a very loving group of people."
Galloway said if you missed the fundraiser on Saturday and would still like to help, there is a fund set up for the two girls at Central National Bank in Attica.
Galloway said you can bring your donation to the bank and ask for it to be put in the Fox/Carpenter Fund.
