FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - 150 student drivers took part in a nationwide event on Saturday in Frankfort, Ind. "Celebrate My Drive," put on by State Farm, helps to promote safe driving among new drivers.
Obstacle courses were set up for participants to drive golf carts through, and through some of those obstacle courses, students even wore drunk goggles.
State Farm agent Tony Theofanis said Saturday's event was a great way to have fun while still educating students.
"Studies show that kids who have a positive experience when it comes to learning tend to retain that information," said Theofanis. "So, the way it benefited us and I think it benefits the community is if we make it fun, make it an enjoyable experience they'll remember to be safer drivers hopefully."
There were also 40 adult volunteers at Saturday's event. The event also took place at 300 locations throughout the United States.
