FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Frankfort police said they have utilized more than $9,000 in federal grant money since last October to conduct Operation Pull Over campaigns. Police are now releasing those numbers.
According to Frankfort police, 22 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence and 280 tickets were issued for speeding and other traffic tickets.
Police said 230 tickets were also given out for seatbelt violations. Frankfort police made 4 felony arrests, 11 misdemeanor arrests, and also issued 183 traffic warnings.
According to Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon, there has been a 10 percent decrease in all non-fatality traffic accidents. Officers worked more than 300 hours of directed grant patrols to improve the safety of Frankfort's roadways.
