FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - The Frankfort Police Department launched a new tip line for community members to share non-emergency crime and traffic violation information.
Residents can provide information 24 hours a day on speeding vehicles, drug usage and sales, suspicious activity or specific tips related to crimes committed by calling 654-6480.
Police Chief Troy Bacon said callers will remain anonymous or they can choose to leave their names and contact numbers.
“All messages left on the tip line will be listened to and directed to the proper division to address the concern. The tip line should not be used to report crimes in progress, emergencies or to request immediate police assistance. Those types of situations should be reported by calling 911,” said Chief Bacon.
“We are hopeful people will use the tip line constructively and frequently. It is an excellent tool police and residents can use to address crime and traffic-related issues inside the city of Frankfort to help enhance the safety of our community,” Bacon said.
