FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - As the first precincts rolled in it became clear to 23-year-old Chris McBarnes he would be the next mayor-elect of Frankfort.

Before numbers came in, the young candidate was slightly nervous, but as the first numbers showed a strong lead, McBarnes started to let some emotions take hold. McBarnes maintained a large lead throughout the night, and by 7:00 p.m.,  the results were in that he had won the election with a strong lead.

McBarnes said he plans to put his 100-day plan in to motion as soon as he gets into office, in order to move the city of Frankfort forward.

"I am so excited tonight, but I know very well that the work has just begun. We have a long way to go in making this community a better place. I am ready to take on that challenge, work with my great city council people to get this done, and we're going to get Frankfort moving in the right direction," said McBarnes.

Here's how the numbers break down.
