Franciscan St. Elizabeth hosts free pulmonary rehabilitation seminar

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health will host a free seminar Thursday on COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation.

The seminar is for anyone with shortness of breath or breathing problems due to pulmonary disease, emphysema or bronchitis.

The seminar will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health - Lafayette Central, 1501 Hartford St. in Lafayette.

The seminar will feature two speakers: Imad Khadra, M.D., a board certified pulmonologist with Franciscan Physician Network Pulmonary and Critical Care in Lafayette, will present "COPD: Diagnosis, Symptoms and Treatment;” and Linda Higbee, CRT, of Pulmonary Rehabilitation, will present "Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Inspiration for Health."

People with pulmonary disease often experience shortness of breath that can interfere with their ability to do every day things. The presentation will discuss the causes of pulmonary disease and how Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health's Pulmonary Rehabilitation program can improve your health and lead to a more active lifestyle.

This seminar is free but registration is required and can be made by calling Pulmonary Rehabilitation at (765) 423-6820.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is located on first floor of Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health - Lafayette Central. Attendees may park on the upper ramp to the hospital if space is available. Additional parking is available in the parking garage. For those parking in the garage, take the sky bridge over to the hospital. Once in the hospital, take the elevator to the first floor.
