Food Finders gets special visit from attorney general

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Indiana's Attorney General made a stop in Lafayette this week to help stamp out hunger.

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller visited Food Finders Food Bank Friday morning to launch the March Against Hunger campaign.

He is challenging all Indiana law firms and their clients to promote food bank donations.

According to Food Finders, one in six people in Tippecanoe County do not know where their next meal is coming from.

Zoeller says even though lawyers tend to have bad reputations, they are always looking to serve the public and fighting hunger is a great way of doing just that.

"The lawyers are the ones that you call when you are in trouble,” Zoeller said. “I think too often we hear the lawyer jokes. I've been known to tell one or two, but I do think that there (are) an awful lot of good lawyers out there. Whenever people are in trouble they call on a lawyer to help. That's what we are doing here today.”

If you want to register with the March Against Hunger food drive, or if you'd like information on Food Finders Food Bank, head to March Against Hunger’s website.
