LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A local food bank got a whopping donation of more than 30,000 eggs Wednesday.
Food Finders Food Bank received the donation from Rose Acres Farms.
According to Executive Director Katy Bunder, this is the fourth year they have received the donation.
Bunder says the donation means a lot to the community because the food bank rarely has eggs.
“The thing about eggs is, you can eat them the way they are, but it also means you can bake a cake or make muffins or pancakes,” Bunder said. “So, it's really a luxury for them to have a carton of eggs. We just wish we could have them for them more often.”
Each of the Food Finders food pantries will get about 24 cartons of eggs.
