WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind/ (WLFI) - The viewing area had quite an active evening Thursday as severe weather left a lot of damage across several counties.

One area hit particularly hard was Carroll County

Hail as large as baseballs were found in and around the Flora area. The large hail created large gashes in the siding and roofs of homes and businesses. The Flora airport destroyed  It also destroyed many crops throughout the area.

Many residents described the storm as 'horrifying' and one man described his home as looking like it was 'shot with a machine gun.'

It's clear that large hail wasn't the only damaging factor of these storms Thursday night.

Very strong winds with speeds in excess of 60 m.p.h. snapped trees, large limbs, and power lines leaving many in the dark and a large mess in the streets.

According to Carroll White REMC, at the peak of power outages 600 Flora residents were without power.

As of Friday afternoon, nearly all customers are with electricity in the Flora and Radnor area.
