LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A new face took over for a familiar one at the Lafayette School Corporation meeting Monday evening.
It was the first board meeting for Superintendent Les Huddle who replaced longtime Superintendent Ed Eiler in July. The meeting Monday was a short one, all of about five minutes.
Huddle said he's been meeting with staff and administrators and been doing lots of catching up. One large item on his agenda right now is implementing the new teacher evaluation system which was passed earlier this year.
"That's on everybody's mind, not only the teachers, but the administrators," Huddle said. "It's going to be time-consuming. It's going to take a lot of energy and effort. We're going to have to calm some fears and we're going to have to make it work."
Huddle said the other major thing he's working on is creating a five-year strategic plan for the district to replace the old plan which ended in the spring.
