OTTERBEIN, Ind. (WLFI) - A special booth was set up at the Otterbein Street Festival Saturday. Otterbein firefighters set up a raffle and donation booth for the Shoults family.
A week ago, a fire destroyed Otterbein's Assistant Fire Chief, Kevin Shoults and his wife Tracie's, home.
Firefighers and their families raffled off a round of golf donated by the ravines.
Some people just gave donations, while others even offered homes for the Shoults' family.
Firefighters say the community is doing a great job at helping the family through this hard time.
"I greatly appreciate people who have stepped up and helped us out," Otterbein Fire Captain, David Hutsell, said. "If it wasn't for the people of the community we wouldn't have done this, and Kevin and Tracie need it."
The donation booth was set up during the entire festival. No word at this time as to how much money was raised.
