Tippecanoe County, Ind. (WLFI) - Firefighters responded to an early morning fire at a home in Tippecanoe County. The homeowners called in the fire around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

The home is located in the 7100 block of North County Road 900 West. We're told the fire is believed to have started in a chimney and then it spread upstairs to the attic.

Everyone in the house was able to make it out safely, including a dog and a cat.

Heavy smoke and damage was left behind and crews say the home is destroyed.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
