WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Crews are putting the finishing touches on the new West Lafayette Fire Station No. 3.

City officials say work should be done within the next couple of weeks, with an official opening scheduled for early December.

Right now workers continue installing driveways and access points outside the building.

New tenants will move into the current Fire Station housed in a barn at Cumberland Park.

"Our intent is to move our firefighters currently in the barn across the street to the new fire station and and then that barn area will house our parts department," commented Mayor John Dennis.

The new fire station comes at an estimated cost of just under $3 million.
