BENTON COUNTY, Indiana - A Benton County man was killed in a farm accident Wednesday.
Investigators said 36-year-old Manuel Lino Mejia-Lamas died Wednesday evening at the Seven Hills Dairy Farm, about three miles southeast of Goodland.
Sheriff's deputies said Petrus Openkkelder, another farm employee, was operating a pay loader shortly after 7:00 p.m. when the bucket fell on Mejia-Lamas. Emergency personnel pronounced Mejia-Lamas dead at the scene.
The case is under investigation by the Benton County Coroner, the Benton County Sheriff's Office, and the Benton County Prosecutor.
