LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Registered Dietitian Renee Tilt has developed a program for families in Greater Lafayette called "Families United for Kids' Health."

The first program begins in February. It's a five-week program offering advice for families with overweight or obese children. Parents will learn ways to teach their children about nutrition, physical activity and child behavior.

Over the past few decades, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of children that are overweight or obese. The program is designed to be a resource for parents to help their kids get healthy and avoid health issues related to obesity later in life.

To register for the "Families United for Kids' Health" program or to learn more, visit the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health website.
