LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Logansport residents should see a reduction in electric bills next year.
It's all because of a three-year, $21 million coal contract the Utility Service Board approved Tuesday night.
Logansport Municipal Utilities Superintendent Paul Hartman said currently, LMU pays $92.83 per ton of coal. With this contract, the company will pay $82.83 per ton for its first year of purchases. The cost of coal will then increase by two percent each year for the remaining two years.
