LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate Joe Donnelly met with supporters in Lafayette Friday afternoon.

Donnelly was greeted by not only a crowd of fans, but by Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski. Donnelly said the race this year has been a long one, but he's enjoyed every minute of it.

He said even though election day is almost here, he will continue campaigning and fighting until the very end. Donnelly said he wants residents of Indiana to know how important their vote is to him.

"I'll fight for you, I'll fight for your family," said Donnelly. "I have in my entire time representing northern Indiana. I've always fought for middle class families for good jobs, great opportunities, and I'll work together with anybody if it can find us 10 more jobs."

Donnelly is facing Republican Richard Murdock and Libertarian Andrew Horning in this year's election.
