WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Purdue Dance Marathon hosted its annual "For the Kids" golf outing on Saturday. Team members suspect they raised a couple thousand dollars.

All funds raised will go to the Cancer Unit at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. President of the Purdue Dance Marathon Karlee Hepp said she was amazed by the turnout Saturday afternoon.

"We had about 20 teams here and about four people on each team," said Hepp. "So, about 80 people came out today to support the kids at Riley, which is really incredible. We raised a lot of money and I think everyone had a lot of fun."

Hepp said the Purdue Dance Marathon is the largest philanthropy on Purdue's campus,  and said they host several other events throughout the year. The funds raised at all events benefit Riley Children's Hospital.
