LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It was all about helping kids Saturday as area bike riders took part in the second annual Subaru CASA Cycling Challenge.

The 24-hour event took place at the Subaru test track facility. Riders raced along a two-mile long track that is both safe for the cyclist and the spectators.

Riders participating in the race will be switching out with relay team members along the way, as they race toward helping out local children in need.

"We're able to raise funds so that we can buy things for the kids that they can't get any other way," said O'Callaghan. "Things for their families to help them make things work for the family."

The cycling challenge raised $56,000, which will all be used to help out the CASA foundation. The race began Saturday at noon and will wrap up Sunday at noon.
