CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - Crawfordsville Police have confirmed that a pedestrian was hit by a train Tuesday morning, as initially reported by the Paper of Montgomery County.

Assistant Police Chief Mike Norman said 46-year-old Raymond Hocking was struck by a train at 4:00 a.m. on the CSX tracks at the Wabash Avenue overpass.

Police said CSX called 911 to report that someone had been hit. Police said the accident is still under investigation, and they do not know if Hocking was walking or had fallen or passed out before being hit.

Hocking was taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis by Lifeline helicopter. He is still alive, as of 10:01 a.m. Tuesday morning.
