CLINTON CO., Ind. (WLFI) - Clinton County authorities believe a driver who may not have obeyed a traffic sign led to a serious crash.

It happened at 4:37 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 400 East and 350 South, a few miles southeast of Frankfort.

Clinton County deputies said a car driven by 19-year-old Ciara Harshman failed to yield at the intersection and crashed into a pickup truck. She was driving west on 350 South, and the pickup was driving north on 400 East.

Harshman's car ended up in a field about 150 feet from the intersection. The pickup also ended up in the field, but much closer to the road.

She had to be extricated from her vehicle and was airlifted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, where, as of late Wednesday, she was listed in critical condition.

The pickup driver and three passengers in Harshman's car including a 3-year-old child were not seriously injured.
