County emergency management prepares for Isaac

CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - While the remnants of Hurricane Isaac may not bring as much rain as previously thought, Emergency Management Agencies are still preparing for whatever comes Indiana’s way.

Carroll County emergency crews say while they don't expect major river flooding, they're asking residents to be on alert for heavy rain in a short amount of time.

County Emergency Management Director Dave McDowell says you can never be too prepared.

"I'm making people aware,” McDowell said. “It's probably overkill. I hope it is. It's not bad to review at times like this.”

Flash flooding is the big concern for crews.

The fire department is equipped with sandbagging materials and will be on stand-by all Labor Day weekend.
