WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Wednesday, Democrat Rick Cornstuble is expected to launch his campaign for Indiana House District 26 and Incumbent Republican Randy Truitt filed his paperwork Wednesday.

The former Lafayette Councilman plans to officially make the announcement Wednesday night at five at Puccini's Resturant in West Lafayette.

He has never made a run for the Indiana House of Representatives, but did lose a primary bid in 2006 for the 4th Congressional District.

Cornstuble lost his bid for re-election to the Lafayette City Council in November to Republican Jerry Reynolds.

No word yet on when an official announcement will be made by Truitt, but he will be running once again for the Indiana House District 26 seat, which he has held since 2008.
