Monticello, Ind. (WLFI) - Congressman Todd Rokita was in both Monticello and Frankfort Saturday to meet with members of the community.

The event is called "Congress on your Corner" and has been taking place for the last year and a half. Residents were able to meet with Rokita to discuss issues facing both Indiana and the nation.

Rokita said he enjoys the event because it gives him an opportunity to hear directly from the people he represents. He said it also allows him to stay connected with the state of Indiana.

"It helps me stay connected to that Hoosier spirit that I knew for almost a decade being the Indiana Secretary of State," said Rokita. " So, I'm pleased to do it."

Rokita said he will also hold a town hall meeting on Monday, August 6 in Danville.
