LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A retirement reception was held for former Lafayette Police Chief Don Roush Friday evening so the community could formally thank him for his service.
Roush has been with the department for 22 years and has served as chief for nearly nine years.
Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski and West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis shared memories about Roush. State Representative Sheila Klinker told stories about how she taught Roush when he was in sixth grade.
Roush said it was an honor to serve the Lafayette area and its wonderful people.
"Thanks for supporting me through these years and remembering the funny things we've done, the interesting things we've done, and difficult things we've done," Roush said.
Roush is the new Associate Director of the Weekend MBA Program with Purdue's Krannert School of Management.
