LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The city of Lafayette and United Way teamed up today for the third annual chili cook-off on Sunday.
The event took place at the McAllister Community center in Lafayette. 12 different kinds of chili were being tasted and judged by community members. There was also a bake sale and cake walk at the event.
While everyone was filling up on all the great food, they were also helping the community. All proceeds from the event will go toward helping fund programs at the United Way.
"The United Way has 23 different agencies that help our community so much," said United Way volunteer Cindy Murray. "United Way also does other things other than the agencies, as far as the Read to Succeed and the kindergarten program that they have, and they really are vital to our community."
Sunday's event cost $5 per person.
