LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Indiana Blood Center is hosting a statewide blood drive beginning on Oct. 9 and continuing through Oct. 13 in honor of Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano.

Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia and is currently undergoing treatment.

On Day One of the "ChuckStrong Donor Center Days," 214 fans gave the gift of life.

In Lafayette, 20 people donated blood at the donor center in the Market Square Shopping Center located at 2200 Elmwood Avenue, Suite D-16.

Fans can continue to give blood on Thursday, Oct. 11 (the donor center is closed on Wednesdays).

Walk-ins are accepted, however, appointments are encouraged.

You can find more information on the Indiana Blood Center website or call the Lafayette donor center at (765) 446-4216. You can make an appointment to give blood online as well.

Indiana Blood Center will be providing cards for donors to write a personal message to Pagano. "In Honor of Coach Pagano" stickers will also be available to wear, pictures of which they can then share on Facebook and Twitter using a special hashtag: #ChuckStrong.

In addition, Colts’ ChuckStrong posters will be available to participants.
