Colt World Series needs housing volunteers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Colt World Series is just around the corner and this year, the board is asking for some help from  the community.

In years past, community members volunteered to house the athletes traveling from across the country. This year, the series added two additional zones and are seeking help from the community to house those players.

President of the Colt World Series Tim Clark said the week long tournament brings a lot to the community, and said anyone interested can help.

"Anybody can volunteer, yes," said Clark. "We will sit down and talk to you and do an interview to find out a little bit about who you are and what you do and, obviously, we want to make these boys as comfortable as possible."

Clark said the baseball players will be coming to town August 2, and volunteers should anticipate them leaving August 10.

If you are interested in volunteering to house some of the players,  you can contact President Tim Clark at (765) 426-6299 or  Housing Coordinator Sally Curwick at (765) 491-7880.
