Coalition hosts caregivers conference

DAYTON, Ind. (WLFI) - The Alzheimer’s Care Coalition is hosting the 6th annual Caregivers Conference on Thursday, August 2.

The conference will be from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Dayton United Methodist Church at 7201 Wesleyan Drive in Dayton, Indiana. It’s about 10 minutes south of the Tippecanoe Mall in Lafayette.

The conference will offer several sessions related to making your caregiving the most helpful. It will also provide insight into different activities that work throughout the stages of dementia.

The conference is free.

CEUs are available for a fee of $10 for those working on their Dementia Certification. The conference will also feature a variety of vendor booths, breakfast, lunch and lots of time to network with other caregivers.

Registration deadline is July 23. Individuals may register by calling the Link-Age Information and Referral Department at Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs at (765) 447-7683 or (800) 382-7556.

The Alzheimer's Care Coalition is a nonprofit organization formed in 2007. The mission is to provide services, education, and support to individuals, families, caregivers and professionals who are impacted by Alzheimer's or any other dementia in the 8-county area served by Area IV.

Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs is a non-profit, social service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals, families and communities.

The Agency serves Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Warren and White Counties. Main office is located in Lafayette with satellite offices in Crawfordsville, Delphi, Frankfort, Monticello and Williamsport. Area IV Head Start Pre-School locations are Flora, Frankfort and Monticello.
