WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Business leaders across the area gathered Wednesday morning for the Greater Lafayette Commerce breakfast, "Eggs 'N' Issues."
There was a lot of Gold and Black in the room to show support for Purdue.
Purdue Head Football Coach Darrell Hazell was chosen to speak to the business crowd.
"We knew that he was very sought-after in the community to kind of get in front of and talk with, and everyone's really excited to have him here. So we thought this was a great opportunity to get him before the season starts and everyone get to know him and get them pumped up for the new season," said Lauren Davis of Greater Lafayette Commerce.
In between sips of coffee, those in attendance heard Coach Hazell address a number of topics. Including one of his top goals, establishing a strong connection with the community.
"The community is so big here in Lafayette and we need to get all the people, not only here in Lafayette and West Lafayette but everybody in the surrounding area into the stadium and these are some great people here," said Hazell.
"We'll reach out as a program at Purdue with our students and our coaches to get into the community and they'll reach back to us supporting our team as well," he added.
