WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Purdue Women's Club meets on the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge in West Lafayette to remind women in the area that they are here for them.
The 500-member club helps bring like-minded people together to share interests. Some of the more than 37 interest groups include crafts, antiques, wine tasting, golf and book clubs.
President Patty Jischke said it's also great for newcomers in the area to make friends and pursue their passions.
"It lets people know that we are really open to all women who are interested in Purdue and in Greater Lafayette. It's much easier for people to find each other and find the ones that are new to the community. All the connections that you need to know. All the doctors, dentists, barbers. Everything like that," said Jischke.
